What doES THE LOGO MEAN?
the shapes used represents the Tulip, Ottawa's official flower since 2001. The artistic curves that cut through the left petal represent the rivers that shape the city's geography (Ottawa River, Rideau River, Jock River), and the entire logo is sealed off with a big 'O' (hinting the city's nickname, "O-town" and the Province Ottawa is located in: Ontario). The color palette used is inspired by the cool climate of Canada and the colors of the Ottawa flag. Canada's iconic Maple Leaf is displayed inside the tulip and the two variations of the logo, one in English and one in French, emphasize the city's historical diversity [with the French] as well as it's modern linguistic diversity. The logo also represents a flying person, relating to the city's motto of "Advance-Ottawa-En Avan.
WHAT DOES THE SLOGAN MEAN?
The slogan "BLOSSOMING OPPORTUNITIES" is related to the Tulip that is the logo and the city flower. The logo is meant for the new generation to go out and explore. Fly with your imagination throughout the beautifully diverse city that is Ottawa and engage in the endless possibilities. Horse riding, Table Tennis, Squash! With the help of the Pan American games, the city will be glowing with new opportunities for all; young or old!
WHAT WILL THE VENUE PLAN LOOK LIKE?
The plan is to have the the bid centered around 5 main clusters (or three zones, depending on how you [personally] organize the city) all within the city's borders! The plan will be to utilize existing facilities by upgrading them to benefit the community to showcase our international competition! Some temporary venues will be built and we have tried to limit the amount of unnecessary builds.
WHAT WILL BE THE LEGACY THAT WILL BECOME OF THE GAMES
The legacy is simple. It focuses around community. Community, community, community. Education-community, beauty-community, opportunities-community, community- community.
